Turn on Auto in the app, and SeaTrace will detect when your boat starts moving and begin recording your voyage in the background, even if the app isn't open. It will automatically stop recording once you're back at rest.
Yes. From the Track tab, just tap Start to begin recording your trip, and tap Stop when you're finished. Manual tracking doesn't require background location access.
SeaTrace uses your device's GPS and background location services to keep logging your route even without a data connection or with the app closed, as long as location permissions are enabled.
Open the Trips tab, select a past voyage, and tap the play button on the route map. You can scrub through the timeline to see your speed, heading, and GPS coordinates at any point in the trip.
Every voyage logs your route on the map, total distance in nautical miles, elapsed time, average and top speed, and a full GPS coordinate timeline you can scrub through during replay.
Automatic Voyage Detection is battery-optimized to minimize impact while still reliably detecting movement. You can switch to manual tracking at any time if you prefer more control over battery usage.
Yes. Open the voyage from the Trips tab and tap the edit icon to rename the trip or add notes.
